Career paths..... and a birthday girl

This week has been rather intense as we've been short staffed at the office. I even got asked if I'd work part of last Saturday, as we were so behind. I wasn't going to at first, but I'm glad I did, as I'm now the "golden girl" (as they put it) of the supervisors and our office director. :). Amazing what working extra hard will do. Heh.
One great thing about all this, tho, is that they've begun training me in a bunch of other aspects of our department. Today I had to suspend a doctor for the first time from scheduling surgeries, as he was late in his OP dictations. It was kinda cool, but rather ironic that it had to be "Dr. McSteamy", the gorgeous one I have a tiny little crush on. LOL. Oh well.
It's funny, because when I first started working here, I had never previously had the slightest interest in the medical world. Even for the first month or so, it was just a job...a way to pay the bills. Funnily enough, the more I learn, the more I want to learn. It's cool to now be able to describe and understand medical procedures and inner workings of a hospital and know what I'm talking about. And my medical vocabulary has grown too :D. I can honestly say I'd like to stick to this as a career, and just knowing that I have that direction in my life is such a good feeling.
TGIF tomorrow. Tonight I'm off to see The Proposal with a couple of girlfriends. :) yay.
And Happy Birthday to my Angel. You know I love you sweetie. xxx
